Global Poverty Project – We can see an end to extreme poverty within a generation
"There are 1.4 billion people, that’s 1 in 7 living in extreme poverty. That means we’ve got 1.4 billion reasons to work towards eradicating it. At the start of this year, Bill Gates launched the Global Poverty Project’s Ambassador Programme in London. I share their vision of a world where nobody goes to bed hungry, so I signed up and have since been trained to deliver the groundbreaking 1.4 Billion Reasons multimedia presentation, which was launched at the United Nations. I have set myself a target of presenting it to 1000 people this year. As an Ambassador I take part in monthly actions, and this week am living on £1 a day for 5 days for food and drink to raise awareness of food poverty and to raise money for charity."
